Gemm Programs

Because we address underlying learning issues we are able to help individuals -- of all ages and at all academic levels.  Available in our Westchester, NY and Fairfield, CT learning centers, or at home anywhere, we offer range of products, from Fundamentals to Fast Track for above grade level students in month-to-month or multi-month packages.   Protocols range from 30 to 90 minutes, three to five days a week.  

Reading

READING FUNDAMENTALS

An individualized 4-month K-12 program that first builds the fundamental cognitive skills required to read, then develops essential reading skills such as spelling, sight-word fluency, syntax and reading accuracy. 

ADVANCED READING

This 6-month program strengthens vocabulary and comprehension skills for younger ones, and adds critical reading, reading for inferences and higher level thinking skills for older children.  Each program is individualized according to each student's needs and goals. 

FAST TRACK

This 2-month program is for above grade level students only, to help them perform at their full potential.  It identifies and strengthens cognitive and/or reading weaknesses according to each child's unique needs.

Math Facts

MATH FUNDAMENTALS

Our 2nd to 6th grade math fact fluency program tackles a weakness in math from many angles.  It's a 4-month program that at first builds cognitive skills such as memory, attention, processing speed and sequencing skills and then adds an adaptive math fact exercise component.  

MATH FACTS

This is a shorter program that tackles math facts only.  Students typically start with addition or multiplication.  They are assessed for fluency in math facts after which an appropriate starting point and customized program is developed.

Test Prep

SCORE BOOSTER

This 2-month tailor-made program combines in center test taking tactics and strategies including supervised practice tests, with cognitive skill exercises worked on at home customized to hone each student's skills.  This helps each student make the most of their natural born smarts when taking the ACT or SAT.  More on our SAT prep skills program.

TEST PREP AT HOME

This is a 3-month program, individualized for each student that works on fundamental and higher level thinking skills to develop a source of ACT or SAT point gain not available from traditional ACT or SAT prep.

Language and Learning

LANGUAGE FUNDAMENTALS

This is a 4-month program for students whose language delays -- receptive or expressive or both -- are due to a weakness in auditory processing skills.  Most of these children are at risk readers and continue with us month to month for reading help also. 

FAST TRACK

This 2-month program is for above grade level students only.  It identifies cognitive and/or learning weaknesses and strengthens them to help a student live up to his or her full potential.

Adult

ADULT LITERACY

This is a 3-month program, in center or at home, that can increase reading speed and comprehension for struggling adult readers.

BRAIN FITNESS

A 10-week in-center program for seniors looking to rejuvenate their brains.  More on Brain Fitness.
