Running Fast ForWord off-site

If your child cannot come to us, we can bring our learning center to you!  We call this service Gemm At Home. 

We send everything you need to get started and then manage the process remotely, as if your child was coming to our center.  Gemm at Home includes incentives to motivate your child, weekly progress reports, virtual and personal support and supervision.   Here are the steps to get started:

First,

if you live nearby, come in for a one-time consult.  Otherwise we use a phone consult to assess if your child is a candidate.  If we have doubts, we may ask for an on-line assessment.  Please click this online screening test link to help us build a better picture of your child.

Next,

if we can decide we can help, we send everything -- pre-enrolled software, headphones, tokens and container, binders with point sheets to keep track and manuals -- in a cool draw-string bag.

Work starts. 

After each session your child's work is downloaded through the Internet to a secure data portal where we see every click made, every error, time taken and progress.  We use this same portal to track our in center students also!

Updates and prizes.  Gemm is in many ways a "virtual" center, our incentives -- Token Store, competitions and our social network, GemmCity.com -- are on-line specifically so that children working at home can feel they are not alone and are part of something.

Progress.  We see and review your child's progress daily.  We will call and/or email as often as needed to keep your child on the best possible track.

Parents receive progress emails every weekend and other support emails.  Parents also receive monthly Student Reports from us followed up by an in-depth phone call on progress to date and an update on changes you might be seeing.  We love those calls!

We are able to do testing along the way if you like, but mostly we manage the protocol to make the most of the few months we have with your child and then you are complete.  As you know with Fast ForWord it is an intervention that endures and so there are no follow ups.
