Screenings in center (or by phone) take 45-60 minutes only. If you have not done so, please take complete this on-line screening test here to see if your child is a candidate for our program.
Every starting family has a two-week test-drive period within which they can cancel for no cost beyond the modest Registration Fee. This is an indication of our confidence in the program to provide Westchester, Stamford and Greenwich reading help to each child who makes it through our screening process.

Second, choose program option
If our assessment and review points to Gemm being able to help, you choose whether to have your child work at a center or at home. We will then develop an individualized plan emphasizing language and learning, reading, math fact, test skills or other choices. Parents can work month to month or take advantage of our pre-pay program* options.
Third, work starts
We have a variety of protocol times, ranging from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. Most students work 50 minutes a day, five days a week for 3-6 months. The software is engaging and fun and we have lots of prizes and incentives. Also, it is adaptive, leading your child through the material at your child's own pace. You receive weekly progress reports.
Fourth, exit interview
The program takes 3-6 months, depending on the child's age (younger ones take longer) and starting point. At that point we conduct exit interviews. This is a one-time intervention, there are no follow ups!
* Programs: Our learning services cover a wide range of needs. Many Gemm students are at or above grade level in their reading, but do not enjoy reading. We provide New Work and Connecticut reading help for these children and for those below grade-level. Others come to us for Connecticut and New York dyslexia help or Asperger's help.
